Krause Painting LLC has been painting Eastside neighborhoods since 1977. Begun as “K and F Painting,” Steve Krause and his best friend were looking for a way to pay their way through college. Neither Steve nor his friend planned on continuing to paint after college. Both went on to receive degrees and worked in their chosen fields. Steve became a school teacher and coach, and continued painting in the summers. After eight years in education, it was time to pursue painting on a full time basis. In the fall of 1989, Krause House Painting Inc. was born. Since that time Krause House Painting Inc. has achieved slow and steady growth every year by developing an intimate knowledge of Seattle and Eastside homes as well as the products that provide lasting protection in the Pacific Northwest climate.
In the summer of 2015, Steve and Doug VanderWel met. At this time, Steve was looking to sell his business and enter into retirement. While Doug, a former engineer, was looking for a career change. The ethics, workmanship and customer service that Krause Painting is known for resonated with Doug. Steve had every confidence that Doug would carry on the business and his namesake in a manner that was consistent with how Krause Painting had been operated for the previous 28 years. On October 1, 2015 Doug and his wife Sara, a first grade teacher in the Issaquah School District, became the new owners of Krause Painting. Doug and Steve continue their relationship, as they both share a vested interest in the continued successes of Krause Painting.
Krause Painting takes pride in serving their customers in a courteous, workman-like manner. Measures are taken to show respect for the customer’s home, as well as the time and expense people put into making their homes a haven away from the fast pace of everyday life. Krause Painting’s goal is to work with the homeowner, using skill and products to improve the aesthetics and beauty of the home. Krause Painting’s work is largely referral-based and repeat business. This means leaving customers 100% satisfied with the finished product and willing to recommend us to the next person is our ultimate goal. Krause Painting performs 60 – 70 jobs a year with 1 to 2 crews under the watchful eye of Doug. Rather than sending out multiple crews in different directions; quality is maintained to the highest degree with company-trained employees who have been with us for five to eight years. Krause Painting employees understand the pride of home ownership and demonstrate the same pride in quality workmanship, leading to lasting results.
